Art: Edward Hopper, First Row Orchestra, 1951

Check out this photo of a painting. What appears common place - a scene of people waiting for the show to begin at a theatre - is actually a study of the observers and how they relate to their environment, seemingly unaware of how much they are a part of "the show." notice the curving lines of the stage accented by the curving lines of the woman's body. Notice the aloofness of the cold unyielding stage and the same demeanor of the wealthy woman's attitude. Life! Interesting art of what appears on the surface to be so simple actually has a few story lines going on under the surface.
